Altum HR is a human resources consultancy firm based in Warrington, Cheshire. I help out with topical blog content and other articles. Director Josie Broadstock tells us more.

Here’s your elevator pitch: describe your business to me and tell me why others should work with you!

Altum HR provide intuitive, value-added human resource support to SMEs. We can provide onsite HR support that fits your business; you will feel like we have always been a part of your team rather than a bolt-on faceless provision. Owning your own business or operating in senior management positions can seem a lonely place; we partner with you to ensure you can focus on the core business while we support your team.

How long have you been in your line of work? How did you discover your passion?

10 years of people management and HR, from a legal background, have given me the combined experience and skill set to feel like my team and I can make a real positive difference to businesses.

What’s the biggest challenge facing your industry today?

People! Employers, employees…no day, person or situation is ever the same and that is challenging. We can never apply a one-size-fits-all approach as everyone is different. That is why I love the industry, but equally why every day brings a new challenge.

How has the industry changed since you first started?

I feel the approach to HR has changed, certainly in the way we practise as a consultancy. Approaching dispute situations with mediation and face-to-face open dialogue is extremely successful and rewarding for all parties.

What would you tell your 18-year-old self?

Thanks for getting your head down – much appreciated at the grand old age of 33 😊
