Client Spotlight: Simply Business Solutions

Here’s your elevator pitch: describe your business to me and tell me why others should work with you!

Simply Business Solutions was established after answering many requests from business owners to provide recommendations and advice for customer acquisition strategies. These include business process outsourcing to call centres in South Africa and online acquisition methods utilising media tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Google. When businesses choose to outsource their business processes offshore, such as sales, it can be like stepping into the unknown and as such it is advantageous to have a team on hand in the UK to essentially hand-hold and provide guidance and support.

How long have you been in your line of work? How did you discover your passion?

We have had a presence in South Africa in one way or another for more than 10 years and prior to that had outsourced to India and the Philippines. Rest assured we have been there and got the T-shirt when it comes to outsourcing, which can sometimes throw up some cultural challenges. Matt and I both come from a thorough sales background, being in sales since leaving school, and have both worked offshore. Matt has taken a keen interest and moved into the media side of the business, and after many tried-and-tested methods, has refined a process for online consumer acquisition.

What’s the biggest challenge facing your industry today?

The biggest challenge facing our sector is trust; many businesses have offshored business activities and since decided to onshore. This can be down to numerous factors but the main factor for failure is process. We are very process-driven as a business and we mediate between the client and the offshore centres to ensure we deliver a strong and prosperous campaign.

How has the industry changed since you first started?

When I first started in the offshore sector there were many challenging factors around data security and data protection. With the Cloud we can almost eliminate these concerns as all information can be secured and monitored in a pro-active fashion. We even work with a partner who can track every key stroke and screen recording so that all outsourced staff can be monitored fully in real-time from thousands of miles away.

What would you tell your 18-year-old self?

I would tell my 18-year-old self to slow down when it comes to business; I have always been very fast-paced and was always going 100 miles per hour when I was younger, which can lead to mistakes being made. I have learned to slow down and consider everything as a process…I can still be quite impatient though.

Three guests are coming for dinner, living or dead. Who do you invite and why?

Cristiano Ronaldo: An amazing football player and human in general – just to get to learn about the man off the pitch. I loved him when he was at United.

Ghandi: I think it would have been a magical experience to meet someone so humble.

Trump: Every dinner party needs a clown.

What should we be getting excited about for Simply Business Solutions?

Simply Business Solutions has, through recommendations, become very active within the claims management arena. The growth possibilities coming out of this sector present boundless opportunities, and with advancements in technology, like those provided by Greenlight CRM, we see very strong growth for businesses in the UK who outsource offshore. Outsourcing is primed for growth as businesses look to cut costs with the uncertain shadow that Brexit has cast over the business community.
